![]() I was able to get around those that I encountered by back tracking, re-evaluating and trying a different approach. Perhaps should have even taken it to the Early Access/In-Dev route. In my opinion they should have waited until January or so to release to give an extra month of testing. It got swarmed by sour reviews on its initial release, and just never got enough reviews later on once the patches came out to tip the scale back the other way. Originally posted by ICEMAN:Any idea as to why it’s almost at negative What platform do you intend to play it on? Then maybe now people might be talking about DLC expansions and sequels. (Again, it's not AAA adjust expectations accordingly - still, it really is quite an achievement.) I think it should have just been released a bit later and gotten some good old fashioned in-house (professional) bug bash sessions in under its belt before being released into the wild or like I said at the beginning, some early-access/in-dev time. Anyway, it's just a shame as it (now) really is a great game. My sense is that it got a bit rushed at the end. With regard to the overall lifecycle of the project they came in rather late, it seems. I don't know how they go about that (in house?, or external contractors?), and to what extent that was done. I think (but I don't know for certain) that what there was of that would have been provided thru the publisher. From my own experience I have reservations about the degree of usefulness of closed alpha/beta testing anyway, without pairing that with rounds of QA using trained professional testers. There were some alpha and beta test cycles later on, but I'm not sure how many of the original backers (at those levels) actually participated in them. ![]() The project had some delays and stretched out to be more than twice, maybe three times the length expected. ![]() It started out a a KS project with a very low target at just $40K - it was successful, earning $43K. (plus some contracted work for music, voice acting, etc.) It's not a AAA company by any means. This game was created by a two person studio, one dev and one designer/artist. However, by the time it got to be about what (I think) they really intended it to be all along, too many people had left, and too few willing to reevaluate and revise their early reviews. But, to their credit, the devs put out a series of patches that addressed the vast majority of complaints. The vast majority of complaints were about non-blocking issues, some nit-picky fit & finish, and a lack of certain QoL features that would be nice-to-haves but in my book not at all necessary. I tend to die a lot, too! < b It's very likely I also didn't get far enough along to find some of those that people did. ![]() Any idea as to why it’s almost at negative I play it much less frequently here on Steam. I mostly play the copy I downloaded directly from Whalenought. I think it's what they were hoping it would be when it was released. Originally posted by mwirkk:It's the final version: v.1.1
